About Us

The Seychelles Home Care Agency (SHCA) was formally established under the Seychelles Home Care Agency Act (2022) to enhance the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of home care services for the elderly, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable individuals requiring assistance in their daily lives.

It serves as regulatory body to oversee and regulate home-based care services across the country.

Understanding the Role of a Care Worker

Becoming a care worker is more than just a job. It's an opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others
Personal Care
  • Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
  • Administering medication as presscribed
  • Monitoring and maintaning personal hygiene
Mobility Support
  • Helping with mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers and changing position of the bedridden
  • Assisting with exercises and physical therapy routines
  • Ensuring a safe environment to prevent falls and injuries
Companionship
  • Emotional Support and Companionship through meaningful interactions
  • Engaging in conversation and recreational activities
  • Offering a listening ear and empathetic understanding
Household Support
  • Light housekeeping tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry
  • Running Errands and grocery shopping
  • Ensuring a clean and organised and conducive living space
Communication & Reporting
  • Documenting observations and changes in the client’s conditions.
  • Communicating effectively with healthcare professionals, family members and supervisors
  • Following care plans and updating them as needed
